90s indie is my kryptonite

The AMAZING 90s indie rock band Superchunk is back with a new album (!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Yes, I know I have a strong bias towards indie bands, especially those from the 90s but cmon. It's Superchunk. They're one of the few bands from that time that weren't influenced by expectations from large labels and the mainstream. They kept creating a great sound that truly was representative of their style.

I completely flipped out when I heard this song on kexp. I have yet to listen to the whole album, mainly because this song is currently on repeat but I'll let you know once I do.

Superchunk will be playing an all ages show at the Showbox at the Market on October 14th with Teenage Fanclub and Telekinesis. So excited I might just do a Rachel Zoe impression, but then I think I'd have to throw up on my laptop. And I like my laptop too much. Instead, just imagine me making awkward excited noises with a couple of fist pumps thrown in for good measure.

Every time I come across an artist whose work I really enjoy, I jot down their name on the closest piece of paper lying around. I've been working on finding these lost scraps and compiling a legit list and I thought I might as well share them with the world. The normal criteria for somebody to get on this list is that they offer a new and original perspective that I find interesting, haven't thought of before or simply think is really pretty :) So take a look, do some exploring...
