between the bars

A good friend of mine just showed me this Metric cover of Elliott Smith's "Between the Bars." I love Metric but was a little skeptical at first because it's not an easy song to cover. I don't even know how many times I've listened to the original but the haunting softness of Emily Haines' voice brings a little more life to the song. Although, I'm not sure liveliness is something that Elliott Smith was aiming for. Either way, great cover.
